About ISO 14064

ISO 14064 is a series of international standards developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) that provides guidelines and requirements for the quantification, monitoring, reporting, and verification of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and removals.

 

These standards are designed to help organizations measure and manage their carbon footprints effectively, enhance transparency, and contribute to global efforts to mitigate climate change.

 

ISO 14064-1:2018: Specification with guidance at the organization level for quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals.

ISO 14064-2:2019: Specification with guidance at the project level for quantification, monitoring, and reporting of greenhouse gas emission reductions or removal enhancements.

ISO 14064-3:2019: Specification with guidance for the Verification and Validation of greenhouse gas statements.

 

Training Shall Broadly Cover

  • Identify and categorize GHG emission sources and sinks
  • Quantify emission levels and create a GHG inventory of an entity
  • Develop and implement an information management system to collect emission data and ensure its accuracy
  • Prepare and present GHG inventory reports in an internationally accepted format
  • Develop key concepts of Baseline, Materiality, and Level of Assurance
  • Create a carbon management strategy
  • Deal with carbon offsets
  • Dedicated ‘Question and Answer’ sessions to facilitate and provide participants with the opportunity to engage actively, seek clarification, and deepen their understanding through interactive dialogue
  • Exercises/Workshops with real-life scenarios and case studies to make the training session interactive and more engaging

 

Prerequisites

There are no formal prerequisites for attending the Training ‘ISO 14064: Comprehensive Training on Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Standards’. However, it is preferred if the participant has a basic understanding of Understanding of Environmental Concepts and Awareness of Regulatory Requirements.
