About the Course
This training aims to equip participants with 28 fundamental problem-solving tools to systematically identify root causes, develop effective containment actions to meet customer and regulatory requirements, and implement robust preventive measures. Emphasis is placed on both the occurrence and detection of root causes, supported by validation and verification mechanisms to ensure long-term resolution and continuous improvement.
In today’s dynamic work environment, critical and complex problems often emerge across multi-disciplinary teams. Frequently, the root cause remains unidentified due to ineffective problem-solving methods or lack of proper training—leading to recurring challenges and ineffective preventive actions. It’s not uncommon for teams to shift responsibility instead of resolving the issue at its core.
Training Shall Broadly Cover
- Basic Tools: Brainstorming, Cause and Effect Diagram (Ishikawa/Fishbone), Pareto Chart, Check Sheet, Histogram, Scatter Diagram, Control Chart.
- Intermediate Tools: 5 Whys, Flowchart, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), SWOT Analysis, Force Field Analysis.
- Advanced Tools: Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), Lean Principles (e.g., Value Stream Mapping), Six Sigma Methodologies (e.g., DMAIC).
- Effectively reduce non-conformances to PPM (Parts Per Million) levels, which is essential in today’s competitive business environment.
- Adopt and apply a structured problem-solving approach—including identifying root causes, defining targeted corrective actions, implementing permanent solutions, and ensuring sustained results.
- Utilize tools and methodologies that not only address the immediate problem but also assess and improve the control systems that allowed the issue to occur.
- Apply the Predict–Prevent–Protect strategy to proactively meet customer expectations and prevent recurrence of issues.
