• Using Histograms for analyzing variation
• Measures of Central Tendency: Mean, Mode and Median
• Measures of Variation: Range and Standard Deviation
• Normal Distribution and its properties
• Central Limit Theorem
• Control Charts for Variables – X-bar and Range, X-bar and Standard Deviation, Individual and Moving Range
• Steps in Plotting Control Charts
• Interpretation Rules for identifying out-of-control process
• Application Exercise in plotting and interpretation of X-bar & R Chart

Day 2 (4 hrs)

• Process Capability and Process Performance Calculation using Control Charts
• Control Charts for Attributes and Interpretation rules – P-chart, np-chart, c-chart and u-chart
• Application Exercise
• Examples of control chart applications
• Guidelines for selection of control charts

pre -requisite :

• Participants should be comfortable in using MS Excel
